Howdy Neighbor!
We would like to invite you to join the fastest
growing group in the City of Norco. We're the Norco
Horsemen's Association. Don't let the name mislead you, you
don't have to be a horse owner or a resident of Norco to become a member of
the NHA! We're here to promote and
preserve the large lots and animal keeping lifestyle that we now enjoy.
We are a non-profit, non-political group. We endorse
no candidates. We do, however, support issues and policies which are
directly related to "keeping Norco, Norco."
Norco is different from all other cities People move here
because of the "rural" atmosphere. You won't find another
city government as dedicated to keeping the large lots and animals... for
now. It's a dream to think that things will stay this way forever
without a fight. That's why this group was founded - to protect and
maintain the things that people move here to enjoy.
Every year we hold our Annual Founder's Day Poker Ride.
All of the proceeds go towards trail improvements. Even though the
trails of Norco are of a great concern to us, that's not all we do.
The NHA actively participates in the community. We always have representatives
at City Council meetings to keep us informed of what is going on. We
actively participate in Horseweek events. We donate to the Norco
Seniors and Pet Relief Fund. Through the proceeds of our annual NHA
Casino Night, we donate scholarships to Norco High School seniors. NHA volunteers assist the Chamber of Commerce by selling Norco Fair
Buttons at the gates on Labor Day weekend.
We need your help!!! We are always in need of people who want to
get involved. We elect new officers and board members each year in
February. Committees are open all year and everyone is welcome to join.
- but, we realize not everyone has spare time - so, just your
membership helps! As in most things, there is strength in
numbers. Please join with us to help keep our community the
wonderful and unique place it is.
Our General meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of each month
at 7:30pm at the Sizzler Restaurant on Hamner Avenue, just south of 2nd.
Street. Meetings are held in the meeting room located on the south
side of the restaurant. Bring your family and friends and have
dinner with us. The meetings are informative and enlightening.
The Norco Junior Horsemen's Association meets the 3rd. Friday of each
month at 7:00 pm the Norco Community Center Small Auditorium. The NJHA is very active. Their major fund raiser
is an Adult Fun Show - This is a really fun event! They have guest
speakers and demonstrations at their meetings, go on field trips and have craft making projects. Visitors are always welcome and please bring
a friend. Business members receive a free display ad in our Trail
Talk newsletter which is mailed bi-monthly to all members and handed out
at all our activities and meetings. This is a great way to promote
our business! The NHA supports its business members.
We have a variety of memberships available (see above) and we'd sure
like you to bring the family and maybe a few friends to our next meeting
where we can say "Hi!" and meet you in person. We have
active committees that are always looking for people who want to pitch in
and help!
Your input and questions are always welcome!
